Possible benefits of decompression / axial traction therapy:

  • Increase healing speed
  • Slow or stop progression of arthritis
  • Increase height of disc spaces
  • Increased flow of nutrition and lubrication in the joint space
  • Can take pressure off pinched nerves
  • Can speed resorption of bulging discs

What is decompression?

According to Dr. Jay Kennedy (founder of the Kennedy Decompression Technique) decompression is the "effect" that can happen when the load of gravity is removed and the body allows more fluid to enter the joint / disc space. This happens naturally, to some extent, when we sleep laying down overnight. We should get out of bed, after 8 hours of sleep, between 1/8"-1/4" taller then when we went to sleep. What we actually perform is called axial mechanical traction. By performing axial traction with specific parameters to an area we can speed and increase this process to help create an advanced level of stretch or the effect of "decompression" that will help produce the above-mentioned results.

Dr. Antonucci has been using the tables and techniques from Dr. Kennedy with fantastic results since 2006 and is always staying up to date with the most current advances and changes to get the most benefit to his patients.
